Double-edged CELL DRAMA

- By Rachel Beresford

It’s the week from hell for Roy as he and Dee-dee take their seats in the police interview room where Roy asks Dee-dee for a piece of paper and an envelope and begins to write. In the court, meanwhile, the CPS barrister paints Roy as a murderer with a violent past and lists his crimes including the assault on Gary and the abduction of Wayne.

As Nina, Evelyn and Carla await Roy’s bail hearing, Dee-dee hurries over and hands Nina a letter from Roy.

Fighting back tears, they realise that Roy’s convinced he’s going to prison — and, unable to face the hearing, Evelyn heads back to the cafe to check on Freddie.

In the court, Dee-dee puts forward her case and urges the judge to grant Roy bail, but the judge refuses the application and orders that he be held in custody until his trial.

In the cafe, Bobby is given food for thought while mulling over Roy’s

predicament with Bernie.

What is Bobby planning?

Later in the week, Bobby’s face pales as he receives a call summoning him to the station for further questioning.

In the prison, meanwhile, Roy refuses his breakfast and refuses to leave his cell.

Later, DS Swain gives a shaken Bobby a grilling and reminds him that perverting the course of justice is a serious offence and carries a custodial sentence.

Bobby returns home and tells Carla how under pressure he made out to DS Swain that the intruder in Lauren’s flat was wearing a balaclava and a dark coat with a fur-trimmed hood.

And when Bobby reveals that he’s changed his statement as he suddenly remembered seeing a man running out of Lauren’s flat, Cassie, Evelyn and Nina listen with interest.

Cassie tells Evelyn and Nina that not long after Lauren’s disappearance, she remembers seeing a coat in the charity shop

fitting the description Bobby gave.

Evelyn and Cassie return from the charity shop and tell Nina that the coat has gone but there were some other clothes that came in with it and one of the jumpers has a name tag.

So later DS Swain calls at the builder’s yard flat and tells Daniel she’d like him to come with him as there’s been a development in the Lauren Bolton case.

Has Bobby unknowingly accused Daniel? Elsewhere, Adam meets up with Rebecca, a new client, at the Chariot Square Hotel.

Having ordered a bottle of wine, Adam flirts with Rebecca and the chemistry between them is evident.

And when Alya calls to tell him that he’s needed in the office for a meeting, Adam kills the call leaving her frustrated.

Alya, meanwhile, takes the meeting with Rich from Fabian’s in place of Adam and Rich is impressed with her knowledge, suggesting she’s future partner material.

Adam later returns to the street with

Rebecca and as they kiss, Adam invites her up to the office.

As Alya winds up the meeting with Rich, suddenly the door bursts open and Adam and Rebecca stumble in, mid-snog.

Later, Alya tellsyasmeen that she’s decided to accept a job offer from Rich while in the solicitors, Adam and Dee-dee struggle without Alya to organise them.

Meanwhile, Rich takes Alya for lunch in the Bistro, congratulates her on such a successful morning and tells her that she’s exactly what Fabian’s needs and she’ll go far.

Also this week, Stu shows Eliza his newly tattooed arm with her name on it but when Eliza points out that the ‘z’ is the wrong way round, Hope andyasmeen are amused.

And finally Gary eyes Maria’s cell phone, wishing he could delete the camera footage.

While on the street, Sarah apologises to Gary for making a drunken pass at him and is horrified when Gary reveals that Maria has a hidden camera.

GARY EYES maria’s PHONE, Wishing HE COULD DELETE THE CAMERA FOOTAGE WHILE SARAH APOLOGISES...”
