Kenny set for a loan switch
things stand, they are a notch below the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham.
They have work to do to reach Chelsea’s level, they have it all to do to get to where City and Liverpool are.
Ten Hag has one of the biggest jobs around. The Dutchman needs all the luck he can get.
JOHNNY Kenny is expected to leave Celtic on loan for the first six months of next season.
The former Sligo Rovers star has made progress with the Hoops’ Under-23 side since his €150,000 move to Parkhead in January.
He’s scored regularly for Ante Postecoglou’s second string with the manager indicating that he sees a role for the 18-year-old to train with the first team squad, where he was handed the number 24 jersey.
However, for the Ireland Under-19 striker to continue his upward trajectory, it’s believed that Celtic’s management envisage a loan spell where Kenny can play first team football.
Training
Kenny has overcome a spell away from training due to a Covid close case and a second minor setback when he injured his knee when playing in last month’s 3-1 defeat to England in Walsall. These issues have not hindered his strong start to life at Celtic but the Hoops are well served up front in Georgios Giakoumakis, Kyogo Furuhashi, Liel Abada and Albian Ajeti while Daizen Maeda’s loan spell from Yokohama Marinos could be made permanent. Postecoglou will also be handed a considerable summer war chest with Celtic in line to earn at least €50m from their Champions League campaign next season as they likely enter at the group stage phase.
