Gracia weighing up dropping Meslier for crunch Foxes tie

dust.

“It will be fantastic for the club and town to have the football team back in the Football League after so long out.

“Wrexham were my local team as a boy and I used to go with my uncle and cousins.

“To see them out of the Football League for so long there has been a disappointment.

“They are so well backed, the fans travel around the country midweek no matter how far.

“So for them to have the club back in the Football League will be massive.”

On the playing front, helping Fulham to another win in their bid to finish top half in their first season back in the top flight was another big moment in Wilson’s weekend.

“It was so important to carry on from last week’s win at Everton as before we were on a sticky run.

“Now we want to finish positively. It’s been very positive as a whole and it is about finishing it well with performances and goals. Everyone in the dressing room wants to finish as high as we can.”

Wilson opened the scoring on 58 minutes as he reacted quickest to slam home after Meslier had fumbled Willian’s cross.

Then Meslier failed to grab Antonee Robinson’s 72nd-minute cross and Andreas Pereira had an easy tap in.

Patrick Bamford’s 79th-minute effort went in off Joao Palhinha but there was no likelihood of a

Leeds comeback.

For Fulham, this was another confidence-booster that they can still impress without Aleksandar Mitrovic with their talisman now having served four games of an eight-match ban for pushing ref Chris Kavanagh.

Wilson said: “To lose Mitro for eight games is not ideal. It is not just his goals but his link up play too and that way he plays is a massive part of us.

“But the lads who have played in his absence have done very well. Hopefully we will continue that way until he’s back.

Personality

“Mitro is always there in training every day and he’s a big personality in the dressing room.

“Although he can’t help us on the pitch, he is off it.

“He’s always giving the centre backs a tough time in training and that bodes well for matches.”

And left-back Robinson added: “We definitely don’t want to be seen as a one-man team.

“We have looked to adapt. That adaptability has been really good and we will carry that on until the big man is back.

“Harry and Willian have been outstanding. Willian can still dictate a game and Harry has made it really hard for the gaffer to drop him. I expect more goals and assists from him.”
