Napoli’s party put on hold

- ■■Euro Round-up

NAPOLI’S Serie A title party was put on hold when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Salernitana yesterday.

Lazio’s 3-1 defeat at Inter Milan earlier in the day handed Luciano Spalletti’s side the chance to clinch a first Scudetto since 1990.

They appeared on course for three points at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona when Mathias Olivera headed them into a 62nd-minute lead.

But Boulaye Dia’s late equaliser means Napoli’s wait goes on — although they could be crowned ahead of Thursday’s meeting with Udinese if results go their way.

In Germany, champions Bayern Munich moved top of the Bundesliga by beating Hertha Berlin 2-0 in Bavaria yesterday.

Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman scored the goals for Thomas Tuchel’s side, who moved above Borussia Dortmund after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Bochum on Friday.

In France, leaders PSG were beaten 3-1 at home by Lorient on Sunday.

Enzo Le Fee put Lorient in front and the French champions were reduced to 10 men in the first half when Achraf Hakimi was shown a second yellow card, but they nonetheless equalised on the half hour through Kylian Mbappe.

Lorient went back in front on 39 minutes through Darlin Yongwa, though, and when Bamba Dieng found the net again two minutes from time, it was game over.

In La Liga, Barcelona moved a step closer to the title with a 4-0 win over 10-man Real Betis at the Nou Camp on Saturday.

Goals from Andreas Christensen, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha put the Catalans — 11 points clear in the table — firmly in control and an own goal from Guido Rodriguez saw off the visitors, who had had Edgar Gonzalez sent off for two first-half bookings.
