by Brian Flanagan NAP OF THE DAY

Not easy to find a nap at a decent price today at Naas but GOVEN (2.50) gets the vote in the second division of the Cavan Developments Supporting Kill GAA Maiden Hurdle.

The six-yearold is a dual winner on the

Flat in France and has run well on his two maiden hurdle outings to date, finishing runner- up to Hiaou at Fairyhouse last month.

He cost JP McManus €175,000 and the Limerickman has been enjoying a fine season with his army of horses.

EACH-WAY THIEF

I DON’T GET IT (3.25) has collected some each-way money for us in recent weeks and can get into the frame again in the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle.

He’s never won from 29 outings but has been placed seven times and amazingly on his last five outings.

The handicapper hasn’t hit him too hard and he can run well again for owner and trainer Neil McCluskey.

ONE TO WATCH

Fred Win ter contenders rock up for the opening 4YO Novice Hurdle — a race won by Aramax and Band Of Outlaws en route to success at Cheltenham.

BEN SIEGEL (1.05) runs in the same colours as 2021 Fred Winter winner Jeff Kidder and can build on a decent run in the Grade 1 at Leopardstown last weekend.

He couldn’t go with the principals in the closing stages but shaped well for a long time and should be sharper in his jumping. A win here would give him a mark to get into Cheltenham.

ONE TO SWERVE

Not the best card ever seen at Naas as Irish jump racing suffers a bit of a Dublin Racing Festival hangover this weekend.

The day finishes with a Hunter’s Chase and a ten- runner bumper where only one horse has run before. Our advice is to switch on the rugby as neither of these make any appeal from a betting perspective.
