Allforthebest became the new ante post favourite with the bookies to win the Shelbourne Open 600 after his terrific opening round performance last week when winning in 32.30.

This powerhouse took up the lead at the third bend from the pace setter Auxerre to win by four lengths.

He is perfectly drawn wearing the stripes so it’s hard to oppose him tonight at HQ as he loves this trip.

Fast Fit Paddy in trap one is the biggest danger, with this Declan McDonagh trained beauty also perfectly drawn along the rails.

He ran a blinder last week to win in 32.50 but so did Pennylane Sheba in trap two. This speedy lady came from last place to win by a head in 32.60 so cannot be ruled out.

There could be a battle for the lead here between Auxerre in trap five and Lynchy Boy in three after both set the pace in their heats last week, but both were caught easily so it’s Allforthebest for me with Fast Fit Paddy to run another huge race.

The second heat will likely see Beach Avenue go off as the favourite.

This Paul Hennessy trained winner of 16 races ran on strong at the finish to grab victory in his opening heat in a time of 32.42.

Final

He is just one race away from making the final for the second year in a row for owner Pat Healy.

It was a strange race last week with Darbys Delight getting disqualified for interference. This Graham Holland trained tracker finished fourth but gets back into the competition after the disqualification so he must be given respect here in trap one.

Spinosaurus in trap three was strong at the finish behind Pennylane Sheba so he has a chance but the one for me is Beach Avenue with Swords Maestro looking like the biggest danger.

Part Blake can land back-to- back wins in race 11 for Graham Holland.

He obliged for me last week
