RAMSBOTTOM’S FLYER ’BILT FOR SUCCESS

-

The feature event at HQ this evening is the €3,000 RCETS A0 Final with the Karol Ramsbottom-trained Vanderbilt hard to oppose.

This son of Laughil Blake- So Said Sarah made all when winning his semi-final heat in a time of 28.61 with a quick sectional of 2.04 to prevail by three lengths to Glenquain Pat.

Vanderbilt is drawn in trap six again for his owner Michelle Connolly so a chance can be taken on him to take home the prize. His early speed will be crucial in this lineup with Glenquain Pat in trap two a danger.

This Shelbourne Park regular beat Vanderbilt two weeks ago by three lengths when he wore the blue jacket, clocking 28.69.

They go head-to-head again but the biggest danger to both is the Kevin Losty-trained Clona Blu in trap three who recorded 28.26 in his semi-final.

This April 2020 son of Droopys Sydney- Skywalker Pearl is bred in the purple with an exiting future ahead but must lead here if he is to win.

Mags Memory in trap five will be flying home for Owen McKenna, as will kennelmate Callaway Masters in trap one but it’s Vanderbilt in race 8 for me.

Love

The 2021 Juvenile Derby champion Droopys Gloss is back out tonight with this Murt Leahy-trained bitch the one to beat in race 10.

I love this lady. She has a great turn of paw and is a consistent type for her owner John Coleman.

Gloss races from trap three with her recent victory earlier this month in 28.43 giving her the edge for me.

This is a hot race though with top sprinter Good Cody in trap five the big worry for trainer Patrick Guilfoyle.

He made his return in Cork last week after a layoff finishing third, beaten eight and a half lengths in 28.09.

He might need the run so a chance can be taken on Droopys Gloss with the 2021 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby finalist Carrigeen North in trap four making his 2022 debut.
