MULLINS TO BEGIN WITH A GOOD YARN

-

WILLIE Mullins is always a bit later than Gordon Elliott unleashing his stars and now it’s his time to roll.

HUNTERS Yarn (12.00, Fairyhouse) was not far off the top as a novice hurdler, second in a Grade 2 at the same venue on his last effort.

a big horse, he could easily improve for a fence, and is likely to put this camp on the scoreboard early.

O’MOORE Park (2.15), who lines up in the Rich Ricci colours, was third of twenty in a Punchestown bumper when we last saw him.

In a maiden hurdle that is not overly strong for the time of year he should be good enough.

The son of Walk In The Park could have much more to come, and the Dublin Racing Festival would like an ideal follow up to this.

In the bumper, El Fabienne (3.25) will sport the same double green as Hunters Yarn, representing owners Souede and Munir, an ever growing force on the Mullins roster.

This filly was well enough beaten in a point to point for Stuart Crawford,

unlike with horses who would be tuned to the last with a view to selling, Crawford would have giving her an educational run for today’s owners with a view to the future.

karl Thornton is well able to plot a handicap raid, and WHERE'S FRANKIE (12.30) was eye-catching when third after a long break.

With the benefit of that run and carrying only a feather weight he could be a market mover worth noting.

Gordon Elliott has dominated the juvenile hurdling division thus far and looks that may continue for a while yet.

He has acquired HEY WHATEVER (1.05) from noel Meade where he had a decent flat career.

a rating 74 where he handled heavy ground and got 1m4f show credentials that are ideal for switching codes.

Two smaller trainers worth following that are hitting the mark of late are Eoin Griffin and Tim Doyle.

Genuine

Griffin’s Mr Social is a very consistent, very genuine type.

He has won and been placed on his last four starts, and this may be somewhat softer than other events he has contested.

Doyle puts up son David on CHER WHY NOT (2.50). The 7lb claiming amateur has been improving all year and i is good value for his claim.

This homebred has won three for what is very much a family operation. a placed effort last time shows he is back on track to make it four wins.
