BELLEWSTOWN

-

3.05 – VEGA MAGNIFICO A WELL- BRED colt that has been pleasing us at home.

He looks the type that will stay a mile- and- a- quarter in the fullness of time, but he has shown pace in his work too.

As usual, we won’t be sending him to his first day at school with big expectations, but we’ll be hoping that he shows plenty of promise.

4.35 – PERSIA

WON a maiden hurdle at Punchestown in May and was a little bit disappointing when third in a novice hurdle at Wexford last time.

This race has cut up a bit and looks a very nice opportunity for him to get back on track.

We’ve put blinkers on him to sharpen him up and his form entitles him to a very big chance.

5.35 – WINNER TAKES ITALL PLENTY of ability, but he hasn’t really translated it to hurdling yet. He takes a bit of settling and hasn’t always jumped brilliantly, but he has shown glimpses that he has the potential to put it all together. Hopefully this will be the day, as it is a great pot for a summer handicap hurdle and it would be nice to win it!

7.35 – INVICTION

YET to win a race and will need to bounce back from a slightly disappointing effort at Clonmel last time. He has the ability to win one of these, but it’s hard to have faith in him off the back of that run. altogether, as it is back at a mileand- a- half against world- class opposition.

It is a big ask of him, but we want to find out whether he belongs in this sort of company or is best kept in staying races.

He is a two-time Group/Grade 2 winner, so he has earned his shot. We can’t wait to see how he gets on.

3.20 – BELMONT AVENUE and

MAZAGRAN

BELMONT AVENUE made it thirdtime lucky when winning a maiden at Dundalk in April.

We had hoped to run him in one of the handicaps at Royal Ascot, but he got balloted out.

This is a lower class of target and I’d be hopeful he can progress enough to run very well.

MAZAGRAN is an interesting horse that was sent to us from the UAE.

It’s hard to weigh up his form in an Irish context as a lot of it came on a dirt surface, but he has settled in well to our routine and it will be interesting to see how he fares.

3.55 – ROCK CHANT

SET himself a big task on his debut by missing the kick quite badly.

He didn’t shape too badly thereafter and should have good improvement in him, but he’ll need to progress to get involved in the finish here.
