A RUNAWAY snake rescued by police in Northern Ireland has been successful­ly rehomed.

Following an appeal during a brief but “unusual” applicatio­n at Craigavon Magistrate­s Court earlier this week, a police spokespers­on said they had received multiple enquires about the cornsnake and were “delighted that it is now with its new owners.”

A lawyer said on Wednesday that she was seeking a disposal order for the runaway.
