HALO, OLD FRIEND
Get first taste of Master Chief’s return
FANS of Master Chief are getting their first taste of the upcoming Halo: Infinite — with a playtest running this weekend.
The multiplayer beta began Thursday and runs till tomorrow.
And although it’s only open to Halo Insider members who registered before September 13, don’t panic.
Bungie has confirmed a second playtest for the weekend starting next Thursday, September 30. Just like this weekend, it will run through at select times until Sunday.
It looks as if the second beta will be open to more players than the first, with details on who will be eligible promised for next week during a Halo: Infinite livestream on the Halo Twitch and YouTube channels.
This should showcase the new capture-the-flag Big TeamBattlegamemode
(12 v 12) as well as the classic Arena battle (4v4).
GAMES WITH CONOR DOYLE Multiplayer
However, players will only have access to multiplayer for certain periods during the live test.
Otherwise, you’ll be stuck with Weapon
Drills, Training Mode, Battle Pass, and Customisation.
Halo: Infinite is billed as a ‘live game’ which means that, like Fortnite or Warzone, it will constantly update with new and ever- evolving multiplayer experiences.
Developers have explained that player feedback is going to be critical in successfully adding new content to the game, which may explain their eagerness to run large-scale beta tests.
The game’s Multiplayer Associate Creative Director Tom French said: “Even after we launch, we’ll continue to learn and see what the community is and isn’t excited about and continue to massage everything we do, refining and refreshing the game over time.”
Halo: Infinite is one of the most hotly- anticipated Xbox games of the Autumn release window, and is scheduled for a December 8 launch after being delayed last year. It’s the sixth game in the main Halo series.
