Doyle takes Hurricane Lane
JAMES DOYLE will partner St Leger hero Hurricane Lane when he lines up with stablemate Adayar in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
Charlie Appleby, the trainer of both colts for Godolphin, confirmed Hurricane Lane would run in Paris.
And the trainer cannot separate the pair, saying both have outstanding credentials.
“I’m very pleased with both horses this morning,” Appleby said.
“As we know, Adayar (the Derby and
King George winner) met with that setback before the Arc trials and missed two pieces of work, which we felt was enough to make us not go to the trials.
“As we said before he’s a horse that didn’t need to earn his stripes.”
William Buick, the principal rider for Godolphin, has admitted it was a tough call between the two Frankel colts, but Doyle was not complaining.
