-

AFTER months of confusion on where we can and cannot travel, over half (52 per cent) of older people (50+) are now considering an extreme holiday that will push them outside of their comfort zone whilst they still have time to do so.

Now restrictions have finally become clearer, AllClear Travel Insurance asked holidaymakers what type of trip they would now consider.

The research found that 12 per cent of over- 50s said they would love to kickstart their adrenaline by considering an extreme sport up in the air — eight per cent said they could even see themselves skydiving on their next holiday.

Over one in eight also said they were considering a trip to Las Vegas for a flutter while a further 13 per cent are considering swapping creature comforts for creepy crawlies with a jungle trek or survival holiday.

Some 15 per cent wanted to book a polar expedition while almost two-thirds (62 per cent) wanted to travel around like they used to, either driving across a country (38 per cent) or taking a train across a continent (42 per cent).

Finally, 42 per cent were considering a trip to marvel at the wonders of the animal kingdom such as a safari.
