of-contract player.

Warnock has long since mastered the art of managerial double-speak with his haranguing of match officials so predictable.

The Boro boss would love to bring Brady to the Riverside for he knows that his quality would give his side an asset that could make all the difference to his team’s promotion bid.

But Boro cannot afford Brady right now and Brady remains focused on playing in the Premier League.

Battle

As an out-of-contract professional when the summer transfer window closed on August 31 Brady can sign immediately for a club which makes his acquisition all the more appealing to potential bosses who are already eying a relegation battle next spring or are hoping to mount a promotion charge at that time.

Brady is a s treetwise operator who had the honesty to admit in an interview two years ago that he lacked the drive to make all the required sacrifices as a youngster to make the grade at Alex Ferguson’s United.

However, he didn’t lack the savvy just a week after his 21st birthday in January 2013 to realise that while Fergie admired his talents he was still a long way off breaking into a United side that would claim its last

Premier League title under the Scot the following May.

He joined Hull City that month following a successful two-month loan spell and quickly delivered on his potential.

By November 2015 he was Martin O’Neill’s game-changer in Zenica when his switch from left full to the No.10 role at the interval was the key tactical move that saw him score the only goal in Ireland’s 1-1 Euro 2016 play-off first leg with Bosnia.

Brady’s natural ease in possession saw him dictate the play and while Eden Dzeko equalised, the foundation was built for Jon Walters’ return double in Dublin.

It was at the tournament that Brady then supplied his own moment of magic with his late winner against Italy.

Brady’s form at these finals and his influential role with Norwich convinced Dyche to sign Brady.

Burnley don’t spend cash they don’t have and there is a strong argument to be made that Dyche is amongst the Premier League’s all time top 10 managers for keeping the club in the top flight for the past five years.

Don’t rule Dyche out from making a renewed offer to Brady in the coming weeks, as the former knows that he could do with the Dubliner in months ahead.
