Forest’s Johnson has inside line to legendary Beckham
BRENNAN JOHNSON has revealed David Beckham is the most famous person in his phone.
And he might just get a text from the Manchester United legend this weekend after his award.
Johnson’s impressive performances for resurgent Nottingham Forest saw the winger named EFL Young
Player of the Month.
Johnson has two goals and three a ssists i n t he Championship for Forest, who are unbeaten under new boss Steve Cooper.
His fans include Beckham as his ex-pro dad David won the FA Youth Cup at Manchester United and was a member of the club’s famous Class of ‘92.
Johnson (20) said:
“He is definitely the most famous person in my phone.

“There is a few of them from that team who have kept in touch over the years. That is how we know each other. Maybe if he sees it he will get in touch. It is a really nice award to get and shows all the work the boys have been putting in.
“It has given me the chance to get some goals and assists. I have really enjoyed playing under the manager.”

Johnson believes Forest can recover from a poor start to reach the playoffs ahead of Blackpool’s visit today and the Wales international is also confident they can qualify for the World Cup next year. He added: “I think we have the squad to do it with Wales. I really fancy us to get qualified.
“Next year could be really exciting if Forest keep going the way we are now. Hopefully we can do maybe the playoffs.
“We started poorly but now anything is possible.”
Forest coa ch Cooper expects to have an unchanged squad and could stick with the same team. Blackpool are without Chris Maxwell, Shayne Lavery and Daniel Gretarsson. Richard Keogh (groin) should be fit.
