‘FANS BUTT IN ON GAZZA NON-STOP’
Lucy says couple asked for his smoked cigarette
TV STAR Lucy Kennedy has revealed a couple approached her while she was living with Paul Gascoigne and asked for the butt of his cigarette.
The Dubliner travelled to the UK for the weekend to live with the legendary footballer for her Virgin Media show, Living With Lucy, which airs tonight at 9pm.
But Lucy opened up about how legendary Gazza never gets a moment’s peace from fans — saying one couple even asked her if that was his cigarette butt.
The Classic Hit host told The Star: “Out of everyone I’ve lived with, he was the most hassled for autographs and selfies and that includes

“Gazza is a national treasure and people never leave him alone so we leave his front door, he does not get any peace. “Within seconds of u s pl aying football, there was a crowd, so we actually stopped to move beca use i t was building.
“Trying to get him out of there, we tried to do it as discreetly as possible, but within seconds a crowd built.
“He never gets any peace unless he’s actually inside, indoors.
“He’s used to it. He could be in a urinal going to the loo and someone will come over to him. Having a coffee, we had to move on.
“Within seconds people are coming over and they’re staring and they’re filming. There’s no barrier between the English celebrity footballer and the public. People film him eating to see what he was eating.
“He walked to the shops at one point to get cigarettes and he said look, will you mind my stuff.
“He just had a little bag and a phone and a cigarette butt out. This couple walked past and said, ` Oh is that Gazza’s cigarette butt?’.
“I honestly think had I not noticed they would’ve taken it.”
Career
Over her weekend stay, Lucy explores his stellar career and his off the field downfall.
Lucy added: “He’s very shy, but very approachable. He was almost embarrassed when people were kind of saying, `God I loved when you scored that goal’. He was almost embarrassed.
“He doesn’t want the attention whereas other celebrities walk down the road with their arms out wearing shades.
“He doesn’t. He doesn’t want to be noticed. He doesn’t need it.”
