Jockey rival denies threats
TOP jockey Bryony Frost has claimed a male rival threatened to “hurt” her and called her a “f****** whore”.
The 26-year- old, who was the first woman to ride the winner of the King George VI Chase at Kempton on St Stephen’s Day, told officials Robbie Dunne (42) also said she was a “dangerous c***”.
She alleged the 2015 Scottish Grand National winner threatened to put her “through a wing” — a rail at the edge of the course. She also claims he stood naked in front of her in a changing room.
After they both rode in a steeplechase in September 2020, Dunne, whose horse suffered a fatal fall, allegedly confronted Bryony in the weighing room.
Enough
“It was at that stage when I felt I had had enough,” she said. “I couldn’t take his bullying and threats any longer.
“I asked: `Robbie, what’s your problem?’
“He said that the next time they rode against each other `I am going to hurt you’.”
Frost laid out the claims in a five-page statement to the British Horseracing Authority which is conducting an investigation.
The authority has charged Dunne with `conduct prejudicial to the integrity and good reputation’ of racing. A disciplinary panel will decide the case after an oral hearing.
Authority investigators said in their report: “There is a cultural issue in which threatening behaviour is condoned and not reported in the weighing room.”
Frost, who finished fifth in this year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup, also alleged Dunne appeared naked before her in 2017.
She said he made the other comments after they had competed in a series of races.
Dunne agreed there were difficulties between him and
Frost but has denied all of the allegations.
