Mick has lot to Choo over after pasting

Klopp ready for swoop on Theatre of Screams

MICK McCARTHY is clinging to his job as Cardiff manager after a Welsh derby hammering.

It came on a day Bluebirds chief executive Ken Choo was alleged to have said the club would be better off without McCarthy.

The ex- Ireland boss suffered a sixth straight league defeat and Choo was alleged to have told the Cardiff supporters, ‘I wish we had a new manager’.

When asked to provide context to his comment by BBC

Radio, Choo laughed off the matter but did not deny making it.

Pushed for his response, McCarthy’s emotion was clear.

“I can’t imagine Ken would say that and if he did, I think it would be to me and nobody else,” he said.

“Until Ken tells me he said it, it doesn’t matter to me.”

Jamie Patterson was Swansea’s hero with a stunning goal and two assists.

Paterson – released by Bristol City in the summer – rubbed salt in Cardiff wounds by taunting the Bluebirds supporters after his 25-yard strike.

He then set up goals for Joel Piroe and Jake Bidwell as

Swansea soared.

Paterson heaped more misery on Cardiff’s fans with Swansea’s infamous “swim away” celebration which dates back to 1988.

That year Cardiff fans were reportedly chased by Swansea rivals after the two sides met and the only escape from the violence was to dive into the sea.

When Jonjo Shelvey did the same celebration in 2013, he was reprimanded by the FA.

Paterson refused to comment on it, but his team- mates and Martin all did likewise at the final whistle.

Brilliant

Swans head coach Martin said: “It was brilliant – I got carried away.

“You’ve got to enjoy it and I got told to do it. I enjoyed it and the fans did too. The atmosphere was incredible.” Paterson’s goal was worthy of winning any game as his effort went in off both posts after Cardiff’s defence gave him too much space. Piroe made the game safe, with Paterson the creator with a brilliant chip.

He then repeated the trick for Bidwell’s third after fine approach work from Ethan Laird. The Swansea wingback could not miss with a simple header. Paterson, 29, said: “The summer was the worst time in my career to date by a country mile. I went on trial to Boro and then got injured on the first day.

“I got thrown a lifeline here.”

It is that serious that their crucial Champions League clash with Atalanta

It is the visit of Klopp’s ruthless red machine that should strike fear into the heart of every United fan.

An image of the bearded one snarling ‘ Here’s Johnny!’ through United’s splintered dressing room door springs to mind.

Demolition

Liverpool’s 5- 0 demolition of Watford makes them the first team in top flight history to score three goals or more in their last seven consecutive away matches.

Scary stuff indeed with Tottenham, Man City and
