Pain’s just too in-tents
IT’S doubtful that the opinion of the wife of the president of Ireland would hold much sway in Ukraine or Russia.
Yet by the reaction here in Ireland to Sabina Higgins’s call for peace between the two countries you’d swear she’d sparked World War Three.

Conflict
Which makes me wonder what exactly do the plethora of Fine Gael and Fianna Fail politicians who came out to lambast Ms Higgins perceive as the end game in all of this?
We know that the war mongers in NATO are quite happy to see this conflict carry on for as long as possible, as billions of euro worth of arms are pumped into Ukraine.
They have given credence to the ludicrous idea that only those supporting a prolonging of this war are those giving real support to the Ukrainian people.
While at the same time, those campaigning for an end to the bloodshed - in a bid to save Ukrainian lives - are

Flames
We are now in a dangerous stage in world affairs, with tensions rising between Serbia and Kosovo and China also making new threats in relation to Taiwan.
With that in mind, it’s more incumbent than ever to not stoke the flames.
Ukraine will eventually have to thrash this out with Russia over the negotiating table however difficult that may be for Kyiv.
So why not at least try to get the ball rolling on that sooner rather than later?
