BRAD’S LOOKING ON BRIGHT SIDE
Train action flick isn’t end of the line for colourful A-lister’s career
HARD DRIVE: Howells
BRAD Pitt was in the spotlight for his choice of outfit on the red carpet for his new film Bullet Train.
The Hollywood star (58) insisted green means he’ll keep going.
Pitt was present in Los Angeles for the movie’s first showing and donned a striking green suit.
The actor seemed to be loving life as he stopped for photographers and finished off his look with a teal knit top under his lime green coat and wore bright yellow and maroon Adidas trainers.
And when asked by reporters whether the flick is to be his last, he seemed surprised by the line of questioning.
The query came about following a recent interview with GQ in which he discussed being in “this last semester or trimester” of his career.
However, in his latest comments from the red carpet at LA’s at Regency Village Theatre, he clarified to Deadline: “No, I mean...I really have to work on my phrasing.
“I was just saying, ‘I’m past middle age and I want to be specific about how I spend those last things however they may be.”
Unlucky
The new film, based on the 2010 novel Maria Beetle and directed by David Leitch, sees the Fight Club star as Ladybug, an unlucky assassin who is desperate to complete his job in peace after a number of gigs have proved too eventful.
“It was so great to see him flex his comedic muscles,” Leitch says
of Pitt in
Bullet Train.
“Especially during where we were at the time we shot it, it was the height of the pandemic, Los Angeles was really in a struggling place with cases, it was pre-vaccine. So it was a crazy time.
“So for us to come together and have this cathartic comedic, fun, and see Brad really, come in with his veteran comedy chops and like, you know, light up this character, was awesome.
“And do I believe in fate? I must, I mean, Brad and I have worked together for five years, you know, longer, almost a decade working together in the movies.
“And then we go our separate ways and all of a sudden, the script comes together at the right time. And here we are making a movie that hopefully a lot of people will see. So I think that’s fate.”
The cast also features Brian Tyree Henry, Joey King, Andrew Koji and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. ●Bullet Train is out now in Irish
