WARGATHAS Celeb pals weigh in on Vardy interview
A WAR of the WAGs broke out last night after Rebekah Vardy’s “cringeworthy” TV interview following her Wagatha Christie defeat.
Lizzie Cundy compared it to sweatless Prince Andrew Windsor’s disastrous Newsnight chat, which saw him step back from public service.
Fellow WAG Danielle Lloyd, a close pal of Coleen Rooney, said she laughed as it was “hard to watch”.
Rebekah, wife of Leicester City footballer Jamie, lost a libel case against Coleen in the English High Court last week.
The former I’m a Celeb star (40) brought the legal action after Coleen (36) accused her Instagram account of leaking stories.
But in a TalkTV chat on Wednesday, she doubled down on her claim she did not leak “false stories”.
Lizzie (54) yesterday told ITV’s Lorraine: “Yes, it was, without a doubt [a mistake], this is like the Prince Andrew interview — different charges, obviously.
“But no one’s believing, if I were Rebekah, I’d have gone away and reflected and maybe apologised.
Apology
“There was one thing that I noticed, there was no apology, very unapologetic and I’m sorry, the judge has given the verdict.
“There was no evidence, it’s not like being in a player’s bar lounge where there’s hearsay gossip.
“For court, you need facts, you need evidence and sadly for Rebekah, there wasn’t any.” Glamour model Nicola McLean (40), a pal of Rebekah’s, described the whole situation as “really sad” and is “glad it’s over for everyone”. She told OK! magazine: “I think both of them deserved their day in court, they wanted their truth.”
