Amanzoe fast as Mason out for top rank

-

ALSEYOOB showed his liking for the tricky track when making a successful debut a month ago, so have an eachway nibble on the Ismail Mohammed filly in the Group Three Jewsons Sweet Solera Stakes (3.40) run over seven furlongs at Newmarket.

The form was boosted when the third, Frankness, obliged at Chester on Sunday.

In the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Mile due to start at 3.55 at Ascot, MONTASSIB looks sure to be involved in the finish with Danny Tudhope in the irons. Fourth of 18 in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket and fifth of 29 during the Royal jamboree, William Haggas’ beast has the best form on offer.

Blinder

Last Friday at Goodwood SHEER ROCKS ran a blinder when fourth of 12, so running off the same mark Eve Johnson Houghton’s creature looks a corking each-way wager under Frankie Dettori at 10-1 with layers paying four places in the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Classic (4.30) run over a mile and a half at Ascot. William Haggas’ RAZEYNA is the one to beat in the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Sprint (5.05) run over six furlongs at Ascot.

This filly showed a great attitude to score at Carlisle last time out, and fourth-home Alia Choice franked the form when taking a 15-runner handicap at York on her next trip to the belts and braces.

JOANNA MASON is the favourite to be the top jockey at the Shergar Cup — and she can kick off with a winner on AMANZOE (1pm).

William Haggas’ filly is improving fast and she has won three of her last four races.

She hit the line strongly to win over Sandown’s stiff 1m 2f on her last start so this marginally shorter trip should be fine.

Danny Tudhope (inset) is another jockey to have a strong book of rides in the team competition — none more so than MONTASSIB

(3.55, trb) – another beast trained by Haggas. Tudhope rides Ascot better than most and Montassib remains on a very handy rating.

He was unlucky at Ascot in the Buckingham Palace Stakes when he was drawn poorly and then denied a clear run.

He followed that up with a close fourth to Bless Him in the Bunbury Cup.

Haggas could have a stellar day at the

Berkshire track.

PRIDE OF PRIORY (3.20) and HAMAKI (4.30) are both three-year-olds on upward curves and they both have very able pilots in Kieran Shoemark and Jamie Spencer.

Back to Tudhope, who is reunited with an old friend in ARECIBO (2.10) who he knows extremely well. He is a tricky ride who needs everything to go his way but he has slipped a few pounds in the weights and looks a nice price at 5-1.
