CORONATION Street is set to make soap history using new technology normally only used in Marvel movies, its boss has revealed.

Executive producer Iain MacLeod says they have created an explosive new sequence with tech ‘that’s more commonly found in things like The Mandalorian or…the Avengers movies.’

COURTENEY Cox looks stunning in a bikini as she takes the steering wheel on a boat. The Friends star (58) was on holiday with her Snow Patrol partner Johnny McDaid (46) on the Amalfi coast in Italy ahead of his Electric Picnic gig (see page seven).

He revealed: “I don’t think any continuing drama, as far as I know, has ever used this technology before. So I think we’ll be the first to do it.”

The scenes revolve around the exit of actress Millie Gibson, who plays Kelly Neelan, and involve an ‘incredible rooftop sequence’.

He said: “It leaves me with a heavy heart to say it, but we all know Kelly’s leaving the show.

Explosion

“So we thought, well actually, the fact that Millie is going allows us to go really big and do something incredibly high stakes to maybe have some characters step on all these landmines we’ve buried for them over the years and have them all go off in one cataclysmic explosion.

“So we’ve really thrown everything at this week to try and bring out all the big secrets lies, reveals, and schemes. As I say, it’s literally got very high stakes jeopardy. It’s visually incredibly impressive.”

BIG Brother star Brian Dowling has opened up about the special meaning behind his daughter’s name.

Brian and his husband, Dancing With The Stars judge Arthur Gourounlian, announced the birth of their baby daughter via surrogacy at the weekend.

The couple revealed their little tot’s name as Blake Maria Rose Dowling Gourounlian.

Now Brian has revealed why they choose the name for their little girl.

He said: “We liked names that could be used for boys or girls.

“We had the name first. I really, really liked a good few names and we settled on Blake and then BDG, Brian Dowling Gourounlian, Blake Gourounlian.

“Then Maria Rose. Arthur’s mum and my mum. She is just perfect in every way.”

Son

Brian and Arthur initially thought they would be welcoming a son before doctors shared their baby’s gender.

“I actually can’t believe she’s here, it’s so weird. Especially because we were convinced we were having a baby boy,” the podcaster said.

“And then when we were told we were having a baby girl, we were like, ‘Say what’?”

Brian said that while the couple only slept for “two minutes”, their newest family member slept “really well”.

Parenthood

He said: “It’s like nothing really prepares you for parenthood and it’s just as well.

“She is the perfect baby. She is beautiful, her dark shiny hair, her perfect little lips.”

Brian also said that Aoife is in “flying form” since the birth and has moved back home to Rathangan in Kildare where she will be looked

after by her sisters.
