‘I was tee-d off Lowry didn’t reply’
SHANE Lowry’s good golfing buddy Padraig Harrington joked that he wasn’t happy with the Offaly man for snubbing his congratulatory call in the early hours of the morning.
Lowry missed Harrington’s 3:30 am call to congratulate him, which did not go down well with the Dubliner, who was ringing Lowry after winning his own PGA Senior Tour tournament in St Louis.
Bed
“I’ll tell you, if Shane’s not still partying, I’m not happy,” Harrington quipped.
“He’s not answering my phone call, at what time is it, 3.30 in the morning...he’s obviously a lightweight, Gone to bed early.”
GOLF ace Shane Lowry ensured he didn’t have a below-par night after his triumphant victory at the PGA Championship by partying into the early hours.
The Offaly man celebrated his narrow win with friends and family including former One Direction star Niall Horan.
He pulled off an incredible victory by beating Ryder Cup teammates Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm by a single shot in
Wentworth, Surrey,
England, on Sunday.
The golf legend
(35), who also won the 2019 Open Championship, documented his jubilant victory on social media by posting a number of pictures of the festivities.
One included him lounging in an armchair with the prestigious trophy while toasting a beer.
He then posted a picture with his arm around singer Niall, who is a massive golf fan. The Mullingar singer (28) was also pictured with football legend Robbie Keane during the ISPS Handa World Invitational Pro Am at Galgorm Castle in August.
Lowry took to Instagram yesterday and posted a selfie where he appeared visibly exhausted.
Secret
The sporting star, who was wearing the same clothes from Sunday, captioned it “Morning after the night before”. Speaking after his win, he said: “I made no secret how I feel about the whole thing.
“I wanted to win for myself first and foremost, but for everyone that has stayed loyal to this Tour, I really feel this is one for the good guys.”
