IKEA’s on-trend pieces won’t break bank

- ■■Rachel BERESFORD

THIS autumn/winter, IKEA is embracing long-term sustainable style while making small, positive changes to the home to create a fresh look and feel.

Simple tweaks will help establish a cosy atmosphere, perfect for dark nights relaxing with friends and family — and the best part is, IKEA’s prices won’t break the bank.

Here are some of the trends set to be popular this season...

The global IKEA Life at Home Report 2021 revealed that over a quarter (27 per cent) of adults worldwide feel having a clutter-free home is more important to them now, than it was a year ago.

More people are embracing a minimalist aesthetic, considering earthy, neutral tones to help create a sense of tranquillity.

Clotilde Passalacqua, Interior Design Manager at IKEA Ireland, says: “One of the biggest bonuses of decorating your home with neutral pieces is their versatility. Contrasting textures in the same shade work just as well as contrasting colours — from sage

green and subtle browns to rattan and bamboo, these earthy colours and organic materials will create a chic environment whilst bringing the calming effects of the outdoors in.”

This season we are going to see more people embrace fun in the home, with bold statement pieces that express their individual personality.

Get playful and experiment with an array of designs and shapes to positively impact and boost your mood.

According to the global IKEA Life at Home Report, 93 per cent of adults worldwide think it is important that their home provides them with a sense of comfort.

Passalacqua says: “One way to achieve the Nostalgic Expression look is by introducing both floral and mixed patterns into your space, which helps to create a comforting and inviting environment.”
