Kim left reeling to learn Jamie is alive...

THERE was shock for Kim yesterday in EMMERDALE (VIRGIN MEDIA ONE, 8.05PM) when Hazel told her she was pushed down the stairs by Jamie who Kim had believed to be dead.

As Hazel filled Kim in on the details of her time with Jamie, Kim wasted no time in calling the police to report him for attempted murder.

Privately, Kim seethed with anger at what happened while Millie arrived at Home Farm.

Elsewhere, Dawn, Will and Gabby struggled to get their heads around the news Jamie is still alive.

Hurt

But back at Home Farm, left alone, the years of hurt and betrayal from Jamie boiled to the surface as a weeping Kim smashed up the Home Farm living room.

is set in rural Austria and follows the life story of Franz Jägerstätter (August Diehl), a conscientious objector.

At the outbreak of the Second World War, Franz (Diehl) lives a quiet life with his wife Fani (Valerie Pachner) and their three daughters, working the land on the family’s farm.

He gets called up to the German Army for training, and struggles with the emotional toll of being away from his loved ones for months on end.

He is pleased when he’s sent home following the surrender of France in 1940, expecting the war to shortly be over. But fatefully, he’s soon called up again, this time to fight for Nazi Germany, and is ordered to swear allegiance to Adolf Hitler.

He decides this is against his values and strong Catholic faith, and refuses. This is the agonising story of one man’s battle for the right to not kill.
