Irish singer credits US megastar with helping him find ‘cute girl’
A SINGER credits a chance encounter with Taylor Swift in a pub for meeting the love of his life.
Tiernan Heffron was gigging at his local last September when the Grammy-award winning superstar walked in.
She told him she loved his tunes and encouraged him to carry on, after bumping into him at the Tipsy Bird pub in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Tiernan said his knees turned to jelly after an audience member told him that Taylor Swift — who was visiting actor boyfriend Joe Alwyn filming nearby — had walked in.

And when the 23-year-old posted grinning selfies alongside Taylor online, he gained a “massive amount” of new fans and followers once he had the approval of the star.
That prompted a record label to sign up Tiernan and it paved the way to play two-sold out shows as the support act for London-based artist Tom Grennan, as well as airplay on national and local radio stations.
And one of his new followers turned out to be Tiernan’s now-girlfriend, Jemma (21), who inspired his latest EP Live Acoustic, which is dedicated to his new love.
The record includes songs A Girl Like You, By Your Side and Forever in My Heart.
Tiernan said: “I met my girlfriend Jemma and we’ve been together for nearly a year now.
“If I hadn’t met Taylor, I never would have met Jemma — and my EP is about finding love and being with Jemma.
“At the time, the story went everywhere and so Jemma followed me on Instagram but I was too scared to reach out.”
It wasn’t until Jemma shared a post to her story with one of Tiern n’s songs in the background that he plucked up the courage to speak to her and the pair got chatting.

“I got a notification and I just thought ‘oh wow, that’s that cute girl’,” he said.
The pair went for a pizza date in Belfast and the rest is history.
