€12.6M blackmail charge for Pogba bro
the fight will be carried on.
“We’re not giving up on this,” he said.
The devastated father, who will visit Ken’s grave on Thursday along with the rest of his family, says the gardai dealing with the case have been impeccable in their handling of the case to date. “I can’t criticise them at all. “They’ve been very good to us by and large. Particularly since the new investigation opened they have kept in regular contact with us.
“They’ve told us nothing of course, but they have been very good to us and kept in contact every three months.”
Brian says he believes that gardai from the Serious Crime Review Team have been re-interviewing many of those who were interviewed in the original Garda case.
Progress
And he says he’s more hopeful than ever that the case will progress to the point where people will be arrested and convicted.
“They’ve re-interviewed a lot of people again. It’s not been easy with Covid but they’ve struggled through it I believe.
“While they don’t say anything to us as to how the investigation is going, I am hopeful.”
As for those believed to be responsible, Brian is still of the belief that they will never come forward on their own.
Gardai investigating the murder of Kenneth Fetherston are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. ‘SERVICES’: Mathias (left) and brother Paul Pogba
THE brother of Paul Pogba has been charged over an alleged £11million (€12.6m) blackmail plot against the former Manchester United star.
Mathias Pogba (32) has been charged and detained by French investigators in relation to an alleged blackmail plot against the Juventus midfielder.
Paul Pogba (29) has alleged Mathias is part of a “group-organised extortion attempt” against him. Mathias has previously denied this.
Challenge
Mathias Pogba’s lawyer, Yassine Bouzrou, has reiterated that his client is innocent, despite being “placed under formal investigation”.
Bouzrou told French broadcaster BFMTV: “We are going to challenge this decision. My client has committed no criminal offence. We do not understand the decision to keep him in custody, especially as he has an alibi for the night of the alleged kidnap.”
Four other individuals, aged between 27 and 36, have also been placed under formal investigation by French police for extortion and criminal association in relation to the claims.
Three of them were ordered to be detained.
Protection
The Juve midfielder claimed that the group requested the money for “protection services” stretching back 13 years.
Paul Pogba has claimed that he was confronted by the group at gun-point and brought to a flat in Roissy-en-Brie, where he alleged they demanded more than €12.6m for “protecting him”. Paul then opened a criminal complaint through his lawyers.
