BRENDAN RODGERS is on the brink but it could cost Leicester more than €10m to axe their manager.

Just one point from seven games, and six consecutive defeats, have left Rodgers facing the sack and admitting he is unsure if he will still be in charge at the King Power after the international break.

The 6-2 defeat at Tottenham, following a 5-2 hiding at

Brighton in their previous game, is likely to spell the end of the road for 49-year-old Rodgers.

Expires

The Irishman said of the dilemma now facing the club’s owners: “Whatever their decision is, I will always respect it.”

But the Foxes boss has almost three years left to run on his €230,000-a-week contract, which expires in 2025. (above)

DUBLIN have been handed a massive boost for next season with the news that Jack McCaffrey and Paul Mannion are returning to the panel.

Mannion has been out of the frame since 2020, McCaffrey a year earlier, and a return seemed unlikely.

But manager Dessie Farrell revealed yesterday that they’ve agreed to join the squad again.

“The good news is we’ll have Jack McCaffrey and Paul Mannion rejoining the squad next year,” said Farrell on Dubs TV.

“That’ll be a great help to us in terms of the continued development and evolution of the team.

Season

“We’re hoping before the club Championship ends that we’ll have a sprinkling of one or two other new players to bring in and we look forward to the season ahead.”

Mannion is 29 and McCaffrey is 28, so they still have plenty to offer.

At their best, they were two of the finest
