TOMORROW: CURRAGH

-

VERY impressive and professional in winning her first four starts, three of which came in Group company, and she may well have run her best race in defeat in the Moyglare last time.

Time may tell she was beaten by a very smart 2yo there.

We were well clear of the third and the speed she showed to go clear at the Curragh suggests the step back to 6f could see her in an even better light.

3.00 — Blackbeard

THIS looks a very good Middle Park and it wouldn’t be a surprise if either Marshman, Mischief Magic, Persian Force or The Antarctic won. There are maybe one or two others, too.

My colt Blackbeard comes here with very good credentials too, probably the best, following up his wide-margin Chantilly win when beating Persian Force by half a length in the Group 1 Morny last time.

That just about makes him the form pick going into the race.

3.40 — Savvy Victory

I THINK Savvy Victory has as good a chance as any in here, though clearly you’ll need all the luck going to win.

He ran well in Listed company here earlier in the season and he is 2lb well-in after an impressive win at Goodwood last time.

They have tried him over 1m4f in Group company but 1m2f looks to suit him well, and I’d be hopeful a strongly-run race in a big field over 1m1f could see him to good effect.

He usually travels well in his races, so if he can do that here, so much the better. A bit of rain would help him.

4.15 — Verbier

THIS Frankel filly cost a fair bit as a yearling and hopefully she has her fair share of ability. I don’t know a lot about her at the moment, to be fair.

4.50 — Palm Lily

SHE dropped to nursery company at Doncaster last time, after trying her hand in a Group 3 and she finished fourth to a wide-margin winner.

She has been dropped 2lb for it and this slightly longer trip could suit.

1.25 — Espionage

SHAPED very well when second to a stablemate over an extended 1m at Galway on his debut, and he looks a promising sort, as does the winner.

There is plenty of stamina in his pedigree, being Galileo out of our Ribblesdale winner Even Song, so maybe stepping down to 7f isn’t ideal but we are very hopeful.

1.55 — Cape Bridgewater

HE IS an Australia colt out of a very well-related mare who won over 1m, so his pedigree suggests starting him off over 1m is the right move.

He has to give 9lb to Starry Heavens so we will all be happy with a solid first run and plenty to build on.

3.05 — King Of Bavaria

HE HAS run well off a mark of 101 in handicaps on his last two starts, including over course and distance, and he dips his toe into Group company for the first time here.

He clearly needs to improve to win, and last year’s winner Art Power will take a lot of beating at his best.

3.40 — Dower House

OUR two fillies in here have similar form claims. I ride Dower House, who followed up her maiden win with a solid effort in Group 3 company last time and I can see the step back up to 7f suiting her. Caroline Street looks the one we all have to fear here.

4.15 — Wordsworth

I SEE Waterville is the favourite here, and I can fully see the case for him down the bottom of the weights as he will appreciate the step back up to 2m and his mark of 99 looks very fair.

But Wordsworth has a touch of class, coming here off the back of a placed effort over 1m6f in Group 2 company at the Curragh last time.

5.20 — Harley Street

HE IS by Galileo out of a 6f Listed race winner, so there is a good blend of speed and stamina in there.
