NAP OF THe DAY

BUTTONS AND BOWS (8.00) might be worth the wait in tonight’s Annestown Handicap Hurdle at Tramore.

The nine-year-old mare has been a good servant to Pat Flynn and the McManuses having been also bred by JP’s wife Noreen. She stays well and did well to finish fourth at Wexford having lost several lengths at a crucial stage after a mistake. Flynn is on the cold list since February but this consistent mare can get him off it.

eACH-WAY THIeF

IT could be a huge day for Cork-based trainer John Joseph Murphy at Epsom with his White Birch running in the Derby with a chance. He’ll be keeping an eye on Tramore too and VINTAGE GOLD (7.00) is one with a definite each-way chance in the Comeragh Wildlife Park Handicap Hurdle. He hasn’t disgraced himself in maidens and this is his handicap debut off a low mark.

ONe TO WATCH

JOHN Flavin trains in Tramore and his Bearwithmenow has surely been trained with the Pickerdstown Handicap Chase in mind.

A point-to-point winner, he ran well on his chasing debut at Tipperary in April having not been seen since October before that. He just got tired late on and should strip fitter for this assignment on his local track in what’s not a hugely strong race.

ONe TO SWeRVe

A BEGINNERS Chase at Tramore is not for the faint-hearted as the track’s unique turns and twists can make life difficult for some horses.

The Elliott horses are in great nick but Return To Form (5.30) might struggle to back up her Downpatrick hurdles win here with

Willie

Mullins declaring the classy

Heia.
