ELECTRIC Picnic 2024 is already sold out as eager fans snapped up tickets in under an hour — as bosses work to lure in a “specific artist” for the bash.

Less than a week since this year’s festival wrapped up, tickets for the 2024 event went on sale yesterday morning at 9am for loyalty passes and general admission.

Organisers confirmed the annual event is now sold out after tickets were snapped up in less than 60 minutes on Ticketmaster.

They said: “All General Admission, Family Camping and Campervan and Loyalty tickets are now sold out.”

Slot

Electric Picnic returns to Stradbally, Co. Laois next year in the earlier slot of Friday, August 16 to Sunday, August 18.

It typically takes place the first weekend in September, but bosses have changed it up next year to “attract a specific act” to the line-up next year.

Festival director Melvin Benn said the change is a one-off and confirmed the Picnic will revert to the usual time of year after

2024.

“The specific artist that we wanted to attract to the picnic next year and their availability was August 17th, 18th weekend and it was like see how it goes in a way and let’s explore it,” he said.

He also announced that the festival will increase in capacity by 5,000 next year to 75,000.

The lineup for Electric Picnic 2024 will be revealed next year.

Organisers said: “Look forward to seeing you all there!”

This year’s festival wrapped up last Sunday with Irish band The Script and The Killers closing the event on the main stage.

Earlier in the weekend, Niall Horan, Billie Eilish, Fred Again, and Paolo Nutini were the headliners, while Irish breakout talents Nell Mescal and Cian Ducrot were also part of the line-up for what turned out to be the hottest ever year in the festival history.

Festival boss Benn said: “It is the hottest.. undoubtedly. I’ve never known it to be this hot. It’s really nice.

“It was the perfect Picnic for me.”
