The Diamonds hitmaker and beau A$AP Rocky have named their son Riot Rose Mayers, as seen in his official birth certificate.

Riot’s name is a nod to A$AP’s recent hit Riot, featuring Pharrell Williams, while RZA’s name comes from a member of the Wu Tang Clan.

THOUSANDS of Irish have flocked to the French city of Bordeaux to witness the start of Ireland’s Rugby World Cup this afternoon.

There are conservative estimates that the Matmut Atlantique stadium, with a capacity of 41,100, will be half full of Irish supporters.

And one excited fan David O’Leary last night predicted that the green army will be out in full force for Andy Farrell’s squad’s France 2023 opener against Romania (kick off at 2.30pm Irish time).

“I would be shocked if it wasn’t all Irish at the stadium,” said David, who hails from Kilkenny but resides in Killarney.

team, who are ranked number one in the world.

“We’re just here for the Romania game so we want to take it all in and enjoy it,” said David.

“We have travelled up to Dublin for November games and we went to the warm-up game against England, but with prices so expensive you have to make it a day trip.”

In terms of how far Ireland can go in the finals, David replied: “Get past the quarter-finals and do themselves justice, that’s it.

“It would make up for all the years it didn’t go well for us.”

Keelyn, who plays camogie for Kerry and rugby for Glen, added: “That would be bonus territory.

“It’s a really difficult quarter-final but if they’re ever going to do it, it’s this time around. So, fingers crossed.”

It comes as an elite police unit focused on killing terrorists is on duty throughout the Rugby World Cup after it opened under high tension in France yesterday.

The GIGN — the National Gendarmerie Intervention Group — is ready to react to any threat after the flagship opening game in Paris between France and New Zealand last night, which was won by the hosts.

Other measures available to the forces of law and order include a laser anti-drone system and facial recognition technology to spot known criminals.

France’s Interior Ministry has also introduced a ‘zero-delinquency philosophy’ ahead of next year’s summer Olympics in Paris.
