Hands off Isak says Howe

EDDIE Howe has issued a firm warning to Arsenal and Euro rivals by saying Newcastle will not sell star striker Alexander Isak.

The Newcastle boss could lose one of his top two stars in Isak or Bruno Guimaraes this summer because the Toon will need funds to rebuild the squad.

Sweden international Isak has netted 18 goals so far this season, the most in a top flight season since Alan Shearer in 2005, with Arsenal credited with an interest in a summer deal.

But Howe acknowledged the importance of Isak to Newcastle’s rebuilding mission and has warned off rivals.

He said: “No one

SEAN Dyche has told Eddie Howe he should try stepping into his shoes at Everton if he really wants to feel the pinch.

Newcastle boss

Howe has been cursing his luck over injuries in the build-up to hosting the

Toffees at St.

James’ Park tonight.

Howe’s fear is that a ruptured knee ligament connected with Newcastle would want to lose him.”

Howe added: “He’s an outstanding talent. I thought he was excellent against West Ham.

Good

“He didn’t score in open play but his two penalties were outstanding and his general play was very good.”

Brazilian Guimaraes, a €115m target for PSG, was also top class on Saturday and the pair are fit to face Everton tonight.

Newcastle’s injury list has mounted, though, with Jamaal Lascelles suffered by skipper Jamaal Lascelles against West Ham last Saturday could be another setback to undermine their hopes of a top-six finish. But Dyche (inset), fighting a relegation needing a knee op and a nine month absence.

Newcastle’s crazy 4-3 comeback win over the Hammers has opened up a top seven finish.

Kieran Trippier is nearing a comback after a “difficult” calf injury.

Youngster Elliot Anderson is pushing for a recall and Harvey Barnes, who scored twice against West Ham — including the lastminute winner — showed he is ready having been brought on as a substitute.

Lewis Hall could get a start after a great cameo at the weekend.

Howe praised the on loan Chelsea left back, saying:

“When he plays he has to do well enough to try and stay in so he’s given me a lot of food for thought.” battle against the backdrop of a possible second points deduction, a stalled takeover, and a massive annual loss of €104m, reckons Howe should be counting his blessings.

Noise

“There was a lot of noise about their injuries but I keep looking at their team and it looks pretty decent to me!” said Dyche, whose side have not won in the Premier League since December.

“A lot of respect goes out to Eddie and what he’s done there. They’ve added to that feel of St James’ and what it was.”
