Beyonce with an Irish twist
“Since we launched, requests from the US market just grew and grew from those who have tried our chocolates in Ireland or on their travels, asking us when they will be able to order them back home — now they finally can.”
A big collaboration for Grá Chocolates was their Bushmills Hot Chocolate.
Working with Bushmills, Gráinne found harmony between aromatic and characterful Black Bush whiskey and a bespoke velvety chocolate pairing to create a limited edition Grá Chocolates x Bushmills Black Bush hot chocolate.
Remarking on the partnership, Gráinne said: “When I was invited to create something new with one of the most innovative whiskey brands in Ireland I had to say yes.
“Chocolate and whiskey go so well together. The intense sweet sherry profile of Black Bush balanced with the rich notes of my rich cacao chocolate make this a stand-out marriage of flavours to savour.”
Also, the brand has a range of Grá Chocolates wedding favours to cater for couples tying the knot this year. Grá Chocolates are available in all Brown Thomas stores, in Fallon & Byrne, at Dublin Airport and online at www.grachocolates.com
Heaney poem to the US President at the White
EVERYBODY has heard about Beyonce going ‘country’ with her latest single, but not everyone knows that she’s also dabbling with Irish traditional music on her new album.
It has led to two Irish dancers from the US sending the internet wild after performing an
Irish dance to one of Beyoncé’s presumably Irish-inspired songs on her brand new country album Cowboy Carter. Beyoncé (inset) dropped her 27-track album last week and eagle-eyed Irish fans noticed numerous nods to Ireland within the titles, namely a song named Riverdance, presumably inspired by the Irish dancing phenomenon. Videos of Irish dancers performing to Beyoncé’s new single Texas Hold ‘Em have gone viral online.
