SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM

NOTTINGHAM Forest go to Spurs with their hopes of beating the drop rising. They were impressive winners against Fulham the other night and the four-point deduction seems to have had the effect of galvanising Nuno Espirito Santo’s side. They visit a former team of his with a real chance of derailing Tottenham’s fairly hit and miss push for a top-four finish and a guaranteed Champions League spot.

MUST DO BETTER

BRIGHTON have won nothing but praise for the way they have gone about things for the last couple of years, and especially under Roberto De Zerbi, but they have tailed off badly this season in comparison to how they were being spoken of. The Seagulls host Arsenal tomorrow and while it would not be surprising to see them throw a spanner in the works, you can also see them losing.

YOUNG GUN

CRYSTAL Palace don’t always get endless coverage but Adam Wharton has gotten plenty of people talking with his displays for the Eagles since his transfer window move from Blackburn. The midfielder (20) is going to be a major part of Oliver Glasner’s Selhurst Park plans, with the Eagles looking in a safe enough position to already be able to begin thinking about next season.

IRISH EYE

THE FAI said that we would see a new men’s senior boss in April. It’s now April and there seems to be little clarity as to what happens next. The March friendlies are done and dusted and were not very memorable and there is now a two-month window before the next Boys in Green games. Whatever is going to happen would need to happen soon.
