A WOMAN who claims to have "married then divorced" a ghost has turned to witches for help.

Brocarde (40) recently revealed her new career path as a paranormal investigator. To understand and harness her "inner magic", she flew to Romania for a day to become a witch.

The singer joined a coven to learn the secrets of witchcraft and had a spell cast on her for protection against the devil and her ex the ghost of a Victorian soldier.

She visited the home of Mihaela Minca, Romania's most famous witch, in the suburbs of Bucharest.

There she became an honorary member of the coven and learned how to harness her powers.

Brocarde, from Oxfordshire, turned to the witches for help after her experiences with her "ex" - a ghost named Edwardo. They "married", but a year later, she ended the relationship.

She became a witch to try and understand why she could communicate with spirits and see things not all people can.

The singer said: "I was honoured to be invited into Mihaela's home, to have such a personal insight into witchcraft has heightened my understanding of spirituality.

''It was an empowering experience to be surrounded by such positive female energy, and it was uplifting to be able to participate in their spells and rituals.

"I wasn't expecting to have a spell cast upon me, but when you spend the day as a witch, nothing is impossible."

Speaking about the experience, she added: "Being part of the coven really showed me how to believe in myself and to follow the destiny that's laid out for me.

Scared

''The witches, believe that nothing happens for no reason, and I believe that too. I knew life after Edwardo would never return to 'normal' and I'm OK with that.

"I believe there was a reason why I started communicating with spirits, and I'm no longer scared of that. I'm learning more about different cultures on a daily basis, and life is such an adventure now!"

The witches presented Brocarde with a talisman to protect her against evil which consisted of three sacred elements that cannot be separated.

They also knew about her experiences of being haunted by her ex-husband so they devised a special spell which aims to cast out evil and protect her from being harmed

by ghosts.
