KAVANAGH LOOK AT BUYING HOME
Social media star has his eyes on new dream abode
EVEN TV presenters and influencers are struggling to buy in Dublin, as James Kavanagh is looking for a house outside the capital.
The social media personality has previously said that he would like to build a home in Cork, where his chef partner William
Murray is from, because he can’t even
“afford a garden” in Dublin.
Virgin Media One’s The
Great Inspo
Home Adventure is a fourpart series that follows the couple as they search for their first home together.
The couple have been spending €2,000 a month renting in Phibsborough, Dublin, and are desperate to leave the high rents of the capital and buy in the countryside. With a budget of €350,000, they want to escape city life and find a sustainable hideaway where they have room to grow their own produce, and even keep a few hens.
The series sees James and William view all kinds of homes across the country. With eco-friendliness being a priority, they inspect many unique homes including one sculpted from wood to a repurposed shipping container.
In the final episode of the season James falls in love with a thatched cottage in Wicklow. While Cork was the plan, the influencers’ love for the dainty home could lead them buying elsewhere. James (34) said: “We spent the last year exploring some of the most interesting and gorgeous homes in the country. We’ve been borrowing inspiration from every inch of Ireland to embellish into our own house, which we’ve been hunting for.”

Year
More than anything, the influencer now wants to live a sustainable life where he can grow his own produce.
He told the Irish Star: “I’m just ready for my next chapter and my next chapter involves chickens and half an acre. My dad got them last year and he talks to them for hours. And I love that idea.”
Virgin Media One’s The Great Inspo Home Adventure final is on Sunday at 8pm.
