Sima and Jack Baldwin tried to clear it ahead of John Souttar but ended up putting it into his own net.

Todd Cantwell was then denied by Ross Laidlaw, as Rangers looked to press home their early advantage.

Staggies were far from out.

They came out for the second like a house on fire.

On 47 minutes, Sims’ low cross from the right found Murray.

He cracked in a shot that Butland stopped but the County hitman reacted first to the rebound to fire home.

It was a deserved leveller.

Rangers had never looked defensively secure and within four minutes they were 2-1 behind.

Yan Dhanda’s ball found Murray on the left. He cut in and fired in a low shot that Butland saved but Harmon came in from the left to net.

A stunned Clement turned to his bench and brought on Rabbi Matondo and Dujon Sterling for Fabio Silva and Borna Barasic.

Rangers created chances, lacked that killer instinct.

Dessers fired in a shot that Baldwin managed to divert over and then Sima had a double chance. but

He was denied by Laidlaw and then shot wide.

County then landed the fatal blow when King cut inside two Rangers players and found Sims, who skipped past Sterling’s dive and netted in the 68th minute.
