IT’S A FUNNY OLD GAME

-

ABSOLUTE comedy gold.

I’m like a lot of Irish football supporters, I’ve just been rewatching that video and thinking, is this Vladimir Putin attacking the FAI through Artificial Intelligence?

Is this a deepfake from deep within the Kremlin? Marc Canham’s video was a bizarre, scripted owngoal that needs to be a trigger for Irish fans to not just demand action, but demand change.

I felt sorry for young Canham. It was awful viewing. And for the FAI to put him forward in something so sadly pathetic is just not good enough.

Just listen to what he said. Break it down.

For them to put this fellow forward and tell us we might not have a manager until SEPTEMBER, nearly another half a year, it’s just frightening.

How many times do these guys talk about ‘process’?

When he said they are looking for “the right coach who is the right fit”, to then come out and tell us that the “timing” has to be right is baffling.

This crazy gang coach hunt is now the only show in town.

I could imagine absolute parties, champagne and balloons popping in Dáil Éireann, with politicians dancing jigs of joy that once again the FAI had become the big story, taking the pressure off them.

We all felt disgust and horror watching the video, but the saddest element of this story is that none of us are truly shocked.

Just when we think it has hit rock bottom, they send someone out with an open-mouthed smile to tell us, if you think this is rock bottom, wait ‘til September!

There was not one mention of the fact that this was someone speaking on behalf of an association that had promised the long-drawn out process would end in early-April.

This, presumably, means on or

play. There is nothing fair about the fact that Premier League clubs are looking to dodge having to play an extra game or two.

I’m getting sick and tired of clubs, who are greedy to the core and who care far more about money than about football, moaning about playing games of football.

That’s why they are all multi-millionaires. And on a
