Mother duck and brood get an escort
Scary ‘bot must be a Burnese...
A MOTHER duck and her 13 ducklings made it safely from the grounds of a university to the nearest river, with a special escort from a porter.
Images show the ducks’ procession through Corpus Christi College in Cambridge, England, to the River Cam on April
20.
Generations of ducks have been nesting in the University of Cambridge since the 1960s and every year a porter helps them to the River Cam.
A college spokesperson said they hadn’t seen the ducks since the pandemic and had no idea the mother was incubating the eggs under a shrub.
Porter Lee Peters said: “The mother duck knows where to go and when we finally get to the river, it is an amazing feeling.”
A COMPANY has unveiled their new robot dog companion — with a flamethrower attached.
Throwflame says the Thermonator is the first-ever flamethrowing quadruped robot dog.
The Ohio-based US firm announced that the $9,420 (€8,847) bot is available for purchase by the general public and government agencies for the first time.
The Thermonator can be remotely operated by wifi or bluetooth to fire jets of fire up to 30ft into the air.
Able to avoid obstacles and leap through the air, the device has laser sighting and can operate for an hour.
Throwflame suggest the robot can be used for wildfire control and prevention, entertainment shows or even clearing snow and ice from your driveway.
Forest
A chilling video shows a Thermonator creeping through a forest before torching its surroundings. Throwflame says of their invention: “This quadruped is coupled with the ARC Flamethrower to deliver on-demand fire anywhere!”
