‘I date younger guys because men my age are all dead’

CHER says she dates younger men purely because anyone of her own vintage is pushing up the daisies.
The 77-year-old Believe singer is dating music executive Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, who is 39 years her junior.
And she reckons the reason she clicks with guys his age is that they are more confident and have mothers who are similar to herself.
Cher, who has released 22 studio albums, explained: “The reason I got with young men is because men my age are older. Well, now they’re all dead, but before, they were always terrified to approach me. And younger men, they were raised by women like me.”
The twice-married star broke one of her own rules by falling for AE via text but says that he treats her “like a queen”.
AE works for Universal Music Group and shares four-year-old son Slash with model and reality TV star Amber Rose (40). They split up in 2021.
Cher told the Jennifer Hudson Show: “I was nervous of his reputation. I mean, I’m really shy when I’m not working and kind of shy around men.”
Exes
Cher had big age gaps with other exes, including Val Kilmer (64) and Tom Cruise (61), who she dated in the 1980s.
She admits she is “not surprised” by the attention given to her relationship. She explained: “Alexander’s got diamond teeth, tattoos, white hair and he’s way younger. He’s a beautiful man!
“No matter what happens, I love being with him. He makes me laugh and we have fun. What I learned is that it’s never too late. If you wrote out all the statistics, you would go, ‘Well, this is doomed’.
“But we’ve been together a year, and if it was just a year, it would’ve been worth it. I’ve had the best time.”
