Victims of vile Harmon get apology from Scouts

SCOUTING Ireland has apologised to the five victims of ‘prolific paedophile’ and former scout leader, Jim Harmon (80).
On Wednesday at Ennis Circuit Court, Judge Francis Comerford jailed the former Limerick Scout Leader for six years and eight months for molesting five young boys, all scouts, in the 1970s and early 1980s.
Addressing the five complainants in court all now men in their 50s - Judge Comerford said they have been “denied justice for a very, very long time”.

THREE Irishmen were remanded in custody in Australia yesterday charged with stealing over €612,000 in cash, jewellery and luxury goods during dozens of robberies.
Christie McDonagh (19), Michael McDonagh (24) and James Connors (25), of no fixed abode, were brought to Melbourne Magistrates Court.
It’s alleged the men, who entered Australia in the last six months, carried out a spate of “sophisticated residential burglaries” in 60 homes in the city since January.
Most of these alleged offences occurred while the occupants were away from their homes.
It is also alleged that after breaking in, the trio used cleaning products to cover their tracks.

The trio were arrested at a hotel near Melbourne Airport on Thursday.
They are charged with numerous counts of aggravated home invasion, aggravated burglary, burglary and theft from motor vehicle.

Cops have alleged they were part of a wider syndicate, which led to the arrests of three other Irishmen in March in connection to house raids in Melbourne between January and March this year.
Investigators recovered more than €230,000 and designer jewellery allegedly stolen from these two properties.
A police spokesperson said “Investigators are continuing to probe if both groups are linked to any other unsolved burglaries.”
