Mbappe told to pitch in

LUIS ENRIQUE has told Kylian Mbappe that even “a world superstar” has to defend ahead of the France striker’s last home European game for Paris Saint-Germain.

The 2018 World Cupwinner is expected to join Real Madrid in the summer after running down his contract in the French capital.

Mbappe’s goal touch will be needed in the Parc des Princes tonight as the Ligue 1 champions seek to overturn the 1-0 first-leg defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

But Spanish head coach Enrique insisted the club’s record goalscorer will also have to defend against the Germans.

“We all have a common aim,” said the former Barcelona boss.

“We are all a team, an orchestra, where everyone plays an instrument. We always try to play from the back and send the ball to the attackers in the best way.

“And the attackers have to help defend. You can be a world superstar, you have to help the defence.”

PSG beat Dortmund 2-0 in Newcastle’s group in September. Mbappe, who hit the post in Germany, said: “We’re confident we’ll come back from that and qualify for the final.”

PSG are still seeking to win the Champions League after losing to Bayern Munich in the

2020 final behind closed doors in Lisbon with Neymar and Thiago Silva in the team.

Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who took over in November 2011, said: “This is perhaps the most important match since I have been here because it is the first semi-final that we have played in front of our supporters.”

Since the departure of Lionel Messi, PSG have the youngest squad in the last four.

“We also built something for the future,” Al-Khelaifi added. “I’m very proud, whatever the outcome.”
