Will shoot to thrill

-

win suddenly struggle for no reason — and not necessarily because the opposition play well.

City could struggle for 70 minutes and still have plenty in reserve to speed past Fulham with a quick burst of goals. I’ll take a chance on City scoring Over 3.5 goals in the match and that is available at odds of 21-10.

Moving on to the 3pm games and Burnley’s Premier League fate really ought to be sealed at Tottenham this afternoon.

Spurs seem to have come in for a lot of criticism this week, a real puzzler as they have had a pretty good season but it appears to be their turn to get some stick. Maybe United are just too easy a target.

Two wins for Spurs will seal a fine fifth place and given that the current bottom two are among their last three games I fully expect them to do that.

Son Heung-min is 4-1 to score two or more goals against Burnley and that is not too short.

Tomorrow sees the first legs of the Championship play-offs semi-finals, with Norwich hosting Leeds and Southampton travelling to meet West Brom.

Four pretty big names contesting the four, with Daniel Farke going up against his old side.

Leeds are warm order favourites and they ought to be heading back north with a lead after this lunchtime encounter. Although it is quite a short price, the 6-5 about Leeds is just the right side of skinny for me to take on.

Generous

Southampton are a much more generous 8-5 to win at the Hawthorns and although the 12-point gap between the Saints and West Brom in the table does not mean anything, I am looking at an away win here also.

The season’s final league instalment of the Old Firm saga is also on this lunchtime, with victory virtually sealing another title for Celtic. The Bhoys have been the better side on the run-in, while Rangers have been woeful.

Celtic are worth backing here at 10-11, as it’d be a real stretch to think that Rangers could suddenly pull off a win here.

To GAA and Cork go into tonight’s Munster SHC tie against Limerick knowing they must win at home the AllIreland champions to have any chance of progression.

Confidence

Defeats by Waterford and Clare do not inspire confidence and so I’ll take Limerick to win, though Cork’s desperation for victory means they can stay inside the +5 handicap mark at 10-11.

In football there is a pair of provincial finals tomorrow.

Firstly Dublin take on Louth at Croker in a repeat of last year’s Leinster decider.

Dublin won that one and will repeat the dose this year with little fuss. I’ll give Louth a chance of staying inside the +14 quote at 10-11, they are improved despite the loss of Mickey Harte at the end of last season.

Donegal against Armagh promises to be a much closer encounter. Jim McGuinness seems to have found the winning formula again with his county.

Armagh will be ferocious opponents, but for me Donegal, even at 4-5, are the bet here.
