Irish Examiner - County - - News -

A Fáilte Ireland-registered B+B service on Cape Clear has been enrolled in The Business All-Star programme which recognises companies that have distinguished themselves in business in the past year.

Ard na Gaoithe was accredited with the All-Star Gaeltacht Experience Tourism following four rounds of intense competition.

Supported by references, interviews and independent ratings from a ‘mystery shopper’ process, organisers said the adjudication panel was left no doubt Cape Clear B&B/Ard na Gaoithe was richly deserving of the accreditation.

Eibhlín Uí Lionáin, owner and founder of the B&B, said: “Achieving All-Stars accreditation is a great source of for us and we look forward to continuing to meet and indeed exceed the standards set by the All-Star programme.

“The process which led to this accreditation truly stretched us, the structure of the competition required us to put our brand story on paper and gave us the opportunity to reflect on who we are, our growth strategy and above all the value we create for our target audience.

“The opportunity to hear first-hand feedback from our judge-mentor, our existing customers, partners and suppliers through the reference module combined with the results from the mystery shopper round was invaluable,” she said.

Chairperson of the adjudication panel, Dr Briga Hynes from Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick, said Ard na Gaoithe demonstrated an ability to innovate and “has impressive growth plans which no-doubt reflects the resilience and optimism that are the hallmarks of Irish entrepreneurs”.

She said the gaeltacht ispride land enterprise gave “real inspiration for what is possible in business in Ireland and provide important role models for the many aspiring entrepreneurs and existing small firms”.

Meanwhile, Eibhlín said: “We are local, islander and Irish speaking family offering a deeper cultural holiday experience in the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way. We offer Gaeilge agus Fáilte. Staying with us means that you can use your Cúpla Focal Gaeilge with us in a real-life setting.

“A stay with us is refreshing, renewing and relaxing. Enjoy tasty home-baking, breakfasts with our own farm eggs and herbs, menus to suit gluten-free, vegan, and lactose intolerant diets.”
