More West Cork burial records go on website
Burial records for three West Cork cemeteries are available online, for the first time.
Registers for Brade, Schull and Allihies graveyards have been digitised and are now available on the website at www.skibbheritage.com.
The Skibbereen Funeral Register, newly uploaded, records over 2,000 burials. The centre now has a total of 16 burial registers online: Abbeystrowry, Ardagh, Ballymoney, Dursey, Brade, Castlehaven, Durrus, Fanlobbus, Kilcaskan, Killbarry, Kilmacabea, Schull, Tullagh and Whiddy Island.
In co-operation with Cork County Council, the survey also lists 12 local graveyards: Abbeymahon and Chapel Lane in Skibbereen, two in Aughadown, Caheragh, Castlehaven, Drinagh, Drimoleague and two more in Kilcoe.
