Ballincol­lig Win­ter Mu­sic Fes­ti­val

One of Cork’s premier mu­sic events has an­nounced a host of na­tional and in­ter­na­tional head­line artists for its win­ter mu­sic fes­ti­val.

Now in its 10th year, the Ballincol­lig Win­ter Mu­sic Fes­ti­val re­turns in Jan­uary 2019, at The White Horse.

For this very spe­cial edi­tion of the fes­ti­val, a num­ber of pre­vi­ous headliners will make re­turn ap­pear­ances in­clud­ing Tim O’Brien, Donal Lunny and The Voice Squad.

Mean­while, some top class artists will grace the Ballincol­lig stage for the first time in­clud­ing Jerry Dou­glas of the famed Ali­son Krauss and Union Sta­tion. Retro coun­trysoul out­fit, The De­lines, kick off on Wed­nes­day, Jan 23.

The fol­low­ing day will see Dublin singer-song­writer Cathy Davey take to the stage. She will per­form songs from her fifth and lat­est al­bum Live at Dublin Uni­tar­ian Church. On the same night, White Horse Gui­tar Club will per­form at The Cork Opera House for what prom­ises to be a sell­out show with some very spe­cial guests.

The Fri­day night’s con­cert cel­e­brates 10 years of The Ballincol­lig Win­ter Mu­sic Fes­ti­val with a star-stud­ded line up that fea­tures the leg­endary Andy Irvine, reg­u­lar vis­i­tors Donal Lunny and Paddy Glackin as well as folk star, Lisa O’Neill.

Satur­day night’s con­cert fea­tures 14-time Grammy award win­ning Do­bro player Jerry Dou­glas per­form­ing with sup­port from Cork’s own Green­shine. The Sun­day lineup in­cludes Jan Fabri­cius de­liv­er­ing their unique style of old time and blue­grass mu­sic.
