ICMSA calls a meet­ing due to bovine TB out­breaks in Co Cork

The West Cork ICMSA and North and East Cork ICMSA have come to­gether to sched­ule a meet­ing on sev­eral se­ri­ous and high-pro­file bovine TB in­ci­dents in the county. It will take place in the Cas­tle Ho­tel, Mac­room, on Thurs­day, Jan­uary 10, be­gin­ning at 7.30pm.

The meet­ing will be ad­dressed by De­part­ment of Agri­cul­ture, Fish­eries and Ma­rine of­fi­cials Colm Forde and Eoin Ryan, who will pro­vide an ex­pert up­date to Cork farm­ers con­cerned by the out­breaks and the re­sponse pro­ce­dure that fol­lows. The meet­ing will be jointly chaired by Tom Wil­son, En­niskeane, Chair of West Cork ICMSA, and Mau­rice Walsh, Mitchel­stown, Chair of North and East Cork ICMSA, both of whom ap­pealed to farm­ers to at­tend. The meet­ing was or­gan­ised at short no­tice in re­sponse to wide­spread anx­i­ety felt through­out the county due to a rash of TB out­breaks.

Mau­rice Walsh will jointly share Co Cork, ICMSA meet­ing on TB out­breaks.
