As well as the tra­di­tional favourites (turkey, lamb and ham), he demon­strates how to cook some in­ter­est­ing and stylish starters and vis­its two of the coun­try’s best pas­try chefs. Among the an­i­mals he treats is Luna, a seven-year-old labrador who has trav­elled from Switzer­land with her own­ers. Fol­low­ing a CT scan and arthroscopy, Noel dis­cov­ers that she has prob­lems in both el­bow joints, re­quir­ing a se­ri­ous in­ter­ven­tion. Twelve weeks later, Luna is a trans­formed dog and is run­ning around hap­pily en­joy­ing a pain-free Christ­mas. Walk­ing the Walk, RTÉ One, Thurs­day, 10.15pm We fol­low the in­spi­ra­tional jour­ney of Fr Tony Coote, who has mo­tor neu­rone dis­ease, as he leads an army of sup­port­ers 550km from Let­terkenny to Bal­ly­de­hob.
